Silent Meditation:
Psalm 62:1–2
For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. (ESV)
Opening Song and Confession:
How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds In a believer's ear It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds, and drives away his fears. It makes the wounded spirit whole, and calms the troubled breast Tis manna to the hungry soul and to the weary rest.
Philippians 1:27-30
Only vlet your manner of life be wworthy8 of the gospel ofChrist, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear ofyou xthat you are standing firm in one spirit, with yone mindzstriving side by side for the faith of the gospel, 28 and not frightenedin anything by your opponents. This is aa clear sign to them of theirdestruction, but bof your salvation, and that from God. 29 For cit hasbeen granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not onlybelieve in him but also bsuffer for his sake, 30 engaged in the samedconflict that eyou saw I had and now hear that I still have.
